"Behold"
(John the Baptizer)

The title, "Behold" comes from John's exclamation as he first sets eyes on Jesus: "Behold the Lamb of God!" In this moment, the entire prophetic tradition, and the purpose of John's whole life are realized. In this sculpture, John's face and figure radiate a quiet, eternal joy of recognition and fulfillment... yet deep within his eyes is seen a realization of the Baptizer's own end. This bronze piece is life-sized.
